In 2003 we visited Stonewall Jackson's grave in Lexington Virginia. He was shot by his own men, by mistake, on the night of May 2, 1863 at the Battle of Chancellorsville. He was wounded twice in his left arm and in his right hand. His arm was amputated but he died of pneumonia eight days later. His body was sent to Richmond where it was prepared for burial and sent to Virginia Military Institute in Lexington for a military funeral. The first and second pictures are of his original grave, then and now. After the war he and his family was moved a few feet and placed under a new monument, which is shown in the last picture. He was seen sucking on lemons and witnesses said that they didn't know where he got them. When you visit his actual grave you will probably see a lemon or two placed placed there in tribute by visitors.
