Since impeachment of Donald Trump has been the goal of the Democrat Party from the moment Donald Trump was elected I have thought a lot about the history of impeachment. Johnson had the distinction for many years of being the only president ever impeached. That is until Bill Clinton was impeached in December 1998. Richard Nixon would have been impeached had he not resigned from the presidency in August 1974. Of the four presidents, Clinton and Nixon have more in common since they both committed actual crimes and both were caught red handed. Nixon was a Republican and Clinton was a Democrat. On the other hand Johnson and Trump have more in common. They were impeached because of a major difference of opinion between the two parties regarding policy. Old engines New engines  I am a true environmentalist. What do I mean by that? I want to save the environment and free market capitalism. Many, if not most modern day environmentalists, use the environment as a cover for their real goal. The destruction of free market capitalism. This is what the issue of global warming and climate change is really about. In my view one of the greatest speeches ever given by an American. Thankfully the notion of judging a person by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin was drummed into my head from an early age by my parents. Sadly, the left today wants us to believe that the color of our skin and our gender is what determines our character  If you are a White male your character is always suspect. The Battle of Antietam was the bloodiest single day in American history. Robert E. Lee raided Maryland after his costly victory during the Seven Days Battles and his masterful victory at Second Bull Run. He had divided his Army of forty thousand men into five parts. Any General more aggressive than George McClellan might have defeated Lee in detail but McClellan was far too cautious. In a twist of fate that could easily be attributed to God a Union Sergeant found a set of Lee's battle plans in an envelope with three cigars. Lee realizing just in time what had happened concentrated his men with his back to the Potomac along Antietam Creek near Sharpsburg Maryland. This revealed the tenacity of Lee and adherence to the Chinese master of war Sun Tzu who said that men fight harder when there is no escape. McClellan had nearly 100,000 men as opposed to Lee's 40,000. Had he attacked all along Lee's lines simultaneously and maintained a constant pressure on all points there

  When I was ten years old in 1960, America was a vastly different place. Yes, there was such a thing as White privilege. More specifically White male privilege. This affected not only people of color but also White women. At that time we did have a serious problem with systemic racism, and sexism. America definitely had it's flaws. Change was in the air, however; and had been since WW2. The scope of that war made people begin to scrutinize our racial and gender problems more closely. WW2 helped bring America closer to a day of reckoning on the problems of race and gender, that at least on a legal basis would be resolved during the turbulent 1960's and 1970's. The war gave many women a sense of worth outside of the home and brought attention to the plight of Black veterans who had fought against two of the most racist regimes on earth only to come home to racist mistreatment here in America.   What happened to our country since 1960, however?
