TRUE ENVIRONMENTALISM

I am a true environmentalist. What do I mean by that? I want to save the environment and free market capitalism. Many, if not most modern day environmentalists, use the environment as a cover for their real goal. The destruction of free market capitalism. This is what the issue of global warming and climate change is really about. It is a fraudulent crisis designed to frighten people into giving control of the U.S. and world economies over to the Communists. This is what the Green New Deal is all about. I am not a scientist and don't pretend to be. I do know that the climate is in a continual state of change and always has been. When I was a child it snowed a lot more here in Tennessee during the winter than it does today. If our climate is warming I don't believe that man is responsible for it. I believe that it is related to the geothermal activity of the sun such as sunspots. Around 1,000 AD the earth went through a warming period. When the Vikings reached Greenland it was green. This is why it is called Greenland. If I recall there were no smokestacks or automobiles then. There must have been an overabundance of cow farts.
Anybody with a brain wants clean air and clean water. I can remember driving into Nashville during the late 1960's and early 1970's. Some days you could barely make out the Nashville skyline for the layer of smog hanging over the city. Comedians routinely made fun of the smog in Los Angeles. I have seen pictures of Nashville during the 1940's when clouds of coal smoke blotted out the skies. Nobody in their right mind wants to go back to those days and we don't have to. Smog is something that you are more likely to see in countries like China and India rather than the United States, or western Europe.

A true environmentalist believes that technology and smart regulations are the answer to solving the pollution problem. When my Air National Guard unit spent two weeks at Mildenhall RAF base England in June of 1990 I saw this firsthand. Mildenhall was home to a squadron of KC-135 Stratotankers. The K-C135 was a flying gas station. It refueled military aircraft in mid-air. At one time the KC-135 used the same engines as a B-52. The only difference was that the KC-135 had only four engines as opposed to the B-52's eight. One day while I was on mobile patrol with a Security Policeman assigned to Mildenhall, we sat on the flight line and watched as several K-C135's taxied for takeoff. The SP told me to pay close attention to the first plane in line. The noise of the engines was deafening as it lurched forward down the runway trailing thick black smoke behind it's engines as it lifted into the air. It reminded me of the smoke coming from an old coal powered locomotive. He then said "watch this". The second plane only had two engines but they were much larger and rounder. Compared to the first plane it was much quieter and there was no smoke trailing behind the engines. The Air Force was in the process of replacing the old engines with these new cleaner and quieter engines. This was a great example of how technology can clean up the environment.
The vast majority of energy in the United States is provided by fossil fuels. It makes vastly much more sense than renewable energy such as wind and solar. The wind doesn't always blow and the sun doesn't always shine. In addition much of the environment is destroyed putting up windmills which require huge tracts of land to build. Battery power is an old technology and in my view electric cars are not the answer. It takes electricity to recharge batteries and generators powered by fossil fuels to provide electricity. Nuclear is the better option for providing energy but it has gotten a bad rap by the left over the years. In reality statistics prove that nuclear energy is safe. All the more proof that the left isn't interested in building more nuclear plants because their goal is really not to make the environment better but to destroy free market capitalism and obtain power over us all.
Don't be fooled by all of the hype about climate change. It is man's vanity to believe he has the power to destroy this earth. God makes the promise that he will do that. We can damage the environment but as I have noted technology and reasonable government regulations can solve these problems. To a great degree they have already. Fossil fuels are the great driving force behind free market capitalism. Think about it. If we only have twelve years left as socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez say then it is already too late to do anything. Why would she and other climate change fanatics be interested in implementing socialist programs like a single payer healthcare system if we only have twelve years left? Then there are hypocrites like Al Gore who has gotten filthy rich peddling the climate change hysteria. Our choices are clear. We can join forces with those people that truly want to clean up the environment, or blindly follow those people bent on destroying free market capitalism along with the greatest country on earth, the United States of America.
