As a child growing up in Nashville I saw a lot of injustice. Because of my young age and the color of my skin I was aware of some of it. Some of it I was blind to. For example when my mother took me Christmas shopping in downtown Nashville my focus was on avoiding having my picture taken with the Harvey's Santa because I was terrified of him. I loved the idea of Santa and I believed that he was delivering my Christmas presents every year but the thought of sitting in his lap terrified me. I can remember having some pretty intense crying fits when picture time rolled around. Downtown Nashville was the happening place at Christmastime though. My son Jon came to us one day when he was maybe five years old and said with the pure innocence of a child "I want to be babitized" I didn't mispell the word. That is how he said it, babitized. We told the preacher and he was baptized very soon after that. There has always been a difference of opinion among Christians on the question of when is a child old enough to accept spiritual salvation?  For those of you that know me, you know that I am not afraid to speak my mind. My older cars, that I mainly drive, are usually plastered with bumper stickers. I find many of them funny but they are a way of expressing my beliefs and showing support for my favorite political candidates. Over the years I have worn provocative hats and shirts. People will tell me Greg, your going to get yourself killed one of these days. Actually, for the most part I have had tremendous support for my clothing and bumper stickers. I have had people in every part of the country come up to me, or pass by me saying I love your shirt, or hat. This past summer in Keystone South Dakota I received an extra portion of food because the server loved my shirt that said " I Identity As Non Bidenary". People will run up to me at convenience stores saying I love your bumper stickers or pass me on the road giving me a thumbs up and pointing to my bumper stickers.
