SLAVE VS. FREE

As a child growing up in the Cold War 1950's and 60's everyone that I knew was aware of the Communist threat. We lived with the daily fear of nuclear annihilation. I remember neighbors building fallout shelters in their basements or backyards. Designated large brick buildings were clearly marked with the yellow and black placards as fallout shelters by the Civil Defense if you were in or near an urban area and there were the routine tests of air raid sirens or the EBS, EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM on our radios. The Soviet Union and Communism was a frequent topic of discussion by our parents, our teachers and friends. We were shown newsreels of people escaping across the wall from East Germany and East Berlin into West Germany and freedom. Or we saw refugees from Castro's Cuba landing on our shores in Florida. Every school child was aware of the contrast between the darkness of Communism and the shining light of freedom. You could see it with your own eyes when pictures and film depicted the dreariness of the Communist side of East Berlin from across the wall and the lively neon lit side of West Berlin on the free side. With the end of the Cold War and the demise of the "Evil Empire" the contrast between the remaining Communist states such as China, North Korea, Vietnam, and Cuba with the western democratic countries of the world has been blurred by the cultural Communists that have infiltrated our media, academia, secondary education, military industrial complex, our churches and our government. Unlike children of my generation children today are taught that America is the evil empire.

I have found that one distinguishing characteristic of all Communist regimes that have ever existed is that the people that live under them are always trying to escape from them. The desired destination of these refugees are not Africa, the Middle East, or to modern Russia, but to the traditionally free and democratic western countries, especially that "Shining City On A Hill" called America. As Communism gains a greater foothold in America we are seeing the same phenomenon here. People are fleeing the slave states such as California, New York, and Illinois for the free states of Florida, Tennessee and Texas. Statistics show that 343,000 people left California, 300,000 left New York, and 142,000 left Illinois in 2022. Florida's population grew by 318,000, Texas grew by 231,000, and North Carolina grew by 100,000. Only Texas and California have a population of 30 million. The South as a whole gained the most population last year with the western U.S. coming in second. The northeast and midwest declined in population. Most free states are in the South and West and most slave states are in the northeast and midwest. The slave states had the harshest Covid policies, highest taxes, strictest gun laws, highest crime rates, the most corrupt electoral process, the most homeless, and the wokest people.
People and animals are born with a yearning to be free. It is only after indoctrination and conditioning that that yearning diminishes. This yearning for freedom must be nurtured, especially when we are children. If it is we never lose the desire to be free and we continue to yearn for more freedom. The major threat that we face is losing freedom altogether and having no place to escape to. Canada, Australia, western Europe, have more in common with Communist China now than they do with us. The greatest thing that America has on it's side right now is our Federalist system, our majority conservative court system and the 2nd Amendment in those states that still honor it. America still has a large number of patriots that cherish our longstanding tradition of liberty but in for that to last we must raise patriot children that can carry on that tradition. Ronald Reagan said it best "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same. Maximeilien Robespierre stated "That the secret of freedom lies in educating people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant". We must preserve a country that is worthy of escaping to. The left points the finger at the right and is constantly call us a threat to democracy. Something that they know nothing about. Like Alexander Hamilton "it is not tyranny we desire, it's a just, limited Federal government".
