After the mosque shooting in New Zealand the government there passed a law banning all military style semi automatic weapons, all high capacity ammunition magazines, and all parts that allow a weapon to be modified into the type of weapon used in the attack. The New York Times in an article praised New Zealand for only taking six days to pass this law. This reinforces the leftist adage to never let a good crisis go to waste. New Zealand is a country that averages 1.07 gun deaths per 100,000 people a year. Their total population in 2017 was 4.795 million people. Prior to the mosque shootings the worst mass shooting in modern New Zealand history occurred in 1990 at a place called Aramoana township. This was the result of a verbal dispute between two neighbors.
