GO AHEAD, MAKE MY DAY

 

 For as long as I can remember I have heard people ask the question, how could a nation like Germany allow themselves to follow a mad man like Adolph Hitler. How could a nation that produced so many great minds and such a rich culture fall prey to such a monstrous evil as the Holocaust? My mother told me many times how the German people were known for their intelligence and rich culture. I was born in 1950. Only five years after the end of WW2. In my youth the men and women who fought that war overseas and here on the home front were still young themselves. Almost every adult that I knew had a war story to share or a recollection of what life was like in Nashville during the war. Intellectuals and historians would ask the question. Could it happen in America? That question always seemed ridiculous to me. America was too exceptional to fall prey to such nonsense. We weren't as compliant as the German people. There was too much of the independent rebellious pioneer spirit in the American people in my view. Although we had our flaws such as segregation and a patriarchal society I looked at America as a haven. I felt safe and blessed to have been born in this country but I no longer feel safe. It is still a blessing to have been born here. I don't fear the majority of the American people because there are still more of us than there are of the crazies. It is frightening, however; when you see the number of nut jobs there are who have been brainwashed by government schools, the media and social media. The sheer lack of knowledge is frightening considering that there are more good sources of information at our fingertips that at any time in world history. Most of all I am frightened of our government. In the words of Jefferson " When the people are afraid of government, that's tyranny. But when the government is afraid of the people, that's liberty. We are still an exceptional country but we are in grave danger of losing that status. We could be just a few years away from becoming the Germany of the 1930's. 

Lets examine how Hitler came to power. The defeat of Germany in WW1 was a devastating blow to German national pride. In my view the entry of America into WW1 contributed greatly to the rise of Hitler. America had no legitimate reason to declare war on Germany. Our reasons for going to war with Germany were primarily centered around unrestricted submarine warfare and the Zimmerman telegram. America had declared it's neutrality when the war broke out in 1914 and Democrat Woodrow Wilson campaigned for reelection in 1916 on the boast that he had kept American boys out of the war. Germany was being blockaded by the British Navy which was the largest and most powerful navy in the world during that period. The submarine, or German u boat was an unconventional modern weapon that the German Navy put to good use in an attempt to destroy British merchant shipping that was transporting military arms and supplies from the United States. No one can blame Germany for doing this. They were fighting for their survival. The United States was a hostile neutral. They were using their merchant fleet and even British ocean liners like the Lusitania to ship war material to Britain. There is much evidence that the Lusitania was carrying American military armament when it was sunk by a German u boat in 1915 killing over 100 American passengers and that the British purposely left it vulnerable to attack so as to whip up war fever in the United States. The Zimmerman telegram was a letter written by German foreign secretary Arthur Zimmermann. On January 16, 1917, British code breakers intercepted an encrypted message from Zimmermann intended for Heinrich von Eckardt, the German ambassador to Mexico. The letter directed the ambassador to tell the Mexican government: if the neutral United States entered the war on the side of the Allies, Von Eckardt was to approach Mexico’s president with an offer to bring about a secret wartime alliance. The Germans would provide military and financial support for a Mexican attack on the United States, and in exchange, Mexico would be free to annex “lost territory in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona.” Additionally , Von Eckardt was to use the Mexicans as a go-between to entice the Japanese Empire to join the German cause. It is believed that British intelligence concocted this telegram in an attempt to push America further toward war. In addition, J.P. Morgan stood to lose a fortune if the allies lost the war. He was working behind the scenes to involve the US in the war in order to protect his investments. The allies, who he wanted so much to win were Russia, Britain and France. Russia would be taken over by the Bolshevik's in 1917 and they would sign a separate peace treaty with Germany taking them out of the war. By 1917 France, Britain and Germany were locked in a bloody stalemate and they were like two totally exhausted boxers unable to deliver a knockout blow. 

 The U.S. declared war on Germany on April 6, 1917 pumping new life into the allied war effort. This would allow the French and British to go on the offensive in 1918. Something that could not have happened if the U.S. had not entered the war. Our military was so raw and unready for combat that we weren't able to make an appreciable contribution to the war effort until the late Spring of 1918. By the Summer we had two million troops on the ground in Europe. America lost over 117,000 troops which was incredible since we were only in active combat for about six months. The Germans never believed we would have them deployed that soon. They, the German's, came very close to victory with their Spring offensive launched in March 1918. Germany was never able to go on the offensive after the American's landed in Europe. Their hope in the Spring offensive was to win a victory before American troops were able to make an impact on the war. After we arrived in large numbers the allies were able to go on the offensive and we were able to force Germany into an armistice. Although at armistice is not an outright surrender Germany was forced to give up some of it's territory and pay burdensome reparations. Germany in effect lost the war. This agreement was the basis for Hitler's big lie that the Jews stabbed Germany in the back. Between the surrender and the economic crisis caused by the payment of reparations to the Allies, which resulted in hyper inflation, Hitler was off to the races. The German's created the first democratic form of government in their history called the Weimar  Republic after the end of WW1. At first hyper inflation caused massive misery in Germany. It took a wheelbarrow of money to buy a loaf of bread. It was during the period between the end of WW1 and the mid 1920's that Germany was suffering economic chaos. This was the period that Hitler began his rise to power as the leader of the National Socialist German Workers party, which came to be known as the Nazi party. It was only during periods of a bad German economy that Hitler was able to rise to power. During the mid 1920's, which was a prosperous time in the U.S. the Weimar government began to get a handle on the economy and things were turning around. Membership in the Nazi party was decreasing. Then, as luck would have it, the Great Depression, which was worldwide, hit Germany like a ton of bricks after the 1929 stock market crash. Unemployment levels were close to thirty percent in Germany. This was when Hitler and Nazi party became even more popular in Germany. The Nazi's were never able to win a majority in the Rheichstag  but they became the largest minority party. Germany's president Hindenburg, a war hero to the German people appointed Hitler Chancellor in January 1933. The only thing that stood between Germany losing it;s democratic republican form of government was Hindenburg who was in his 80's and in fragile health. On August 2, 1934 Hindenburg died at the age of 86. Hitler combined the office of president and chancellor becoming Germany's Fuhrer. To consolidate his power Hitler had to win over the German military which he did after what came to be called the "Night Of The Long Knives" from June 30th through July 2 when he had the S.A., or Brown Shirts leader Ernst Rohm murdered, along with his henchmen. This removed the S.A. as a direct threat to the power of the German army.

Socialists, going back to Marx warned of the crisis caused by boom and bust capitalism. Hitler was a socialist. National socialism was not a right wing movement. This myth was created by leftists because of Hitler's crimes that were discovered at the end of WW2. Western socialists were pretty cozy with Hitler until WW2 broke out. Lenin congratulated Mussolini after his rise to power in Italy. Both Mussolini and Hitler admired Roosevelt's New Deal policies and considered him a Fascist. When WW1 broke out socialists everywhere were disturbed by the fact that the working class, or proletariat, were nationalistic and fought for their country of origin. For example British workers fought for the British army, French workers fought for the French army and German workers fought for the German army. Marx predicted that the workers of the world would eventually unite against capitalism. Hitler and Mussolini simply believed that socialism had a better chance to succeed if a leader martialed this nationalistic fervor. The only reason Hitler hated the Communists was that German Communists took their orders from Moscow rather than from Berlin. Fascism is a more realistic form of Communism. Rather than the state taking over the means of production as a Communist system does, Fascism allows capitalism to exists as long as it supports the political goals of the state and takes it's orders from the state. The state cannot produce wealth but a Fascist state can. No Communist nations have ever been successful. If Hitler had not been a megalomaniac and tried to conquer the world he had actually restored the German economy. The unemployment rate fell from 30% to 2% in Germany after Hitler came to power. China learned this lesson the hard way after the failure of the Great Leap Forward in the 1950's which caused the deaths of 55 million people from starvation. The Soviet Union collapsed because it refused to become Fascist. China has made Fascism work. Now the world is moving toward the Great Reset that is also Fascist. America is becoming more Fascist and more like China. This is why so many large corporations are going woke and pressuring it's employees into becoming woke. Corporations are more concerned with their ESG ratings than they are with profits. This is why Anheuser Busch can do something as ridiculous as putting Dylan Mulvaney's face on a Bud Light can and never apologize for it. Why would they? They stand to lose more by pissing off the wealthy elites than by pissing off their customers. Fascism diminishes normal capitalistic market forces. It is a modified version of Marx's Communist vision. A more pragmatic implementation of a totalitarian socialist system and it works. Not as well as a free market capitalist system but certain powerful elites stand to become filthy rich from a Fascist system. Under true capitalism everybody benefits. The rich and the middle class. A capitalist system allows for economic mobility. We on the other hand are moving toward a system of two classes. The super rich and the poor. 

 America, in a sense is about where Germany was before the death of Hindenburg. The only thing that stood between the German people and total tyranny was Hindenburg. When he died Germany was hopelessly bound for destruction. Hitler took over total control. The only thing separating us from a totalitarian government are just a handful of  checks and balances that could disappear overnight. Constitutionally conservative judges, a few state governments and governors who have chosen to stand up against the tyranny of the Federal government and the millions of guns owned by law abiding patriotic citizens. If the right circumstances occurred such as a complete takeover of congress and the presidency by the Fascist Democrats in one or two election cycles our democratic republican form of government could be gone forever. I hate to compare leaders in America, or any western country to Hitler. This is overdone by the left. They tried to call Trump Hitler but if he had been Hitler he would have silenced his critics the way Biden and the Fascist Democrats are trying to do now. Or the way Trudeau is doing in Canada.  They always project their sins on to us. How do we know that they wouldn't be Hitler, Stalin or Mao if they had that kind of power . If a thief breaks into your home and ties you and your family up they not only have it in their power to rob you but they can also kill you and your whole family. They also have it in their power to rape your children or your spouse right in front of you and you would be helpless to do anything about it. You don't know what kind of evil resides in the hearts of these people and you are totally at their mercy. Personally, I would rather fight for my life and the lives of my family even at the risk of death. It is better to die on my feet than helpless on my stomach. 

 What if the government becomes the thief. What if they remove your ability to fight back by law, defunding the police, or taking your guns. Which is now happening in many states. In New York if you defend yourself against an attacker, and especially if you use a gun there is a very good chance that you will go to jail and your attacker will go free. This is the nightmare that we all could be living soon. How do we know that the leaders of the Democrat party are not Hitler's and Stalin's waiting to be unleashed? How can we trust a party that would try to remove a sitting president by concocting a lie that he colluded with the Russian's to steal the 2016 election and they knew it was a lie from the beginning? What kind of people would impeach a president twice just because they didn't like him and wanted to keep him from ever being president again. Or try to put him in prison for nothing because he had the audacity to challenge Joe Biden. We all know that Trump wouldn't be going through this right now if he had decided not to run for president again. How can we trust people who would try to disenfranchise half the people of this country by stealing an election. Or use the press to lie for them and cover up their crimes. Fight for the right to commit infanticide through all nine months of pregnancy. What kind of soulless people would want to do that? Or to mutilate young children's bodies by chemically castrating them and cutting off their breasts permanently maiming them just so the medical industrial complex and big pharma can enrich themselves trying to change the sex of children which is impossible and they know it is impossible. Or polluting their minds from an early age with sexual deviancy. Jesus said it would be better for these people to have a millstone tied around their neck and be cast into the sea for perverting the minds of children. It is amazing how many people still trust the government. Many anti-gun people want the government to be the only ones to have guns. The Democrats are demonic and are the last people that should have access to arms. 

 Since Biden took power he has demonized Constitutional Conservatives in every way possible. He has ordered his justice department to focus on white supremacy as the biggest threat to America. In reality white supremacy is the least biggest threat to America. They would be lucky to find a thousand white supremacists outside of the Democrat party. The Democrat party itself is the biggest threat and until it is destroyed America will never be safe. The same can be said about the "Never Trumpers" and the McConnell wing of the Republican party. The Democrat party is a greater threat than radical Islam or Russia because it is the cancerous tumor that is destroying this country from the inside out. Biden has demonized half the country by focusing on MAGA Republican's. We have been singled out as racist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, misogynists, and dangerous. Or what Hillary called us, a "basket of deplorables". Yet we are none of those things because we are the true patriots and we have truth on our side. January 6th was orchestrated by the left as a type of what they want to do with the whole country. Trump is being persecuted not only to hopefully destroy his chances of winning again but to send a powerful message to the rest of us. They are showing us what they can do. The lesson is this. If they can put a president in jail or wage lawfare against him, just think what they can do to us. They hope and  pray that we get angry. Angry enough to do something really stupid. Something big enough to declare a state of emergency and anyone who has ever said anything bad about Biden and the Democrats could end up in the gulag or worse. This could even be on a par with Hitler's Rheichstag fire that gave him the cover to clamp down on his political enemies and solidify his power. In effect they are Clint Eastwood holding a loaded .44 to our head saying "Go ahead punk. Make my day." George the III had hubris too. Who could blame him? Britain had the largest navy and army in the world but he never took into account a rag tag band of patriots who said not no, but hell no to tyranny.
