FIGHTING OFF THE LYNCH MOBS
Whenever an active shooter goes into a school, a restaurant, theater, or business to shoot up the place, killing and wounding many people, there is a collective cringe from those of us in America who are law abiding gun owners. We cringe because we know what is coming. It gives the gun grabbers an excuse to try and chip away at our 2nd Amendment rights by linking people who are in no way to blame for what happened to the crime. We then have to go into a full defensive mode, citing statistics proving that more crimes are prevented by guns than are committed by guns. Or that a gun is what usually puts an end to the carnage, whether it is wielded by a law abiding citizen or a police officer. In the end none of this matters to the left leaning press and those on the left. It provides them with an opportunity that they can't ignore. Remember, never let a crisis go to waste.
The same happens when a low life racist like Dylan Roof goes into a Black church killing people for no other reason than their skin color. Or when White supremacist James Fields Jr. runs down a counter protestor advocating the removal of Robert E. Lee's statue from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. It makes my job harder, and others like me, who advocate for the preservation of Southern history. I believe in the preservation of all history, good or bad. If we allow the destruction of Southern history then where will it end? Will we one day change the name of Washington D.C. and everything pertaining to Washington, or Jefferson because they were slave owners? How can we get things right if we are not reminded of what they did wrong? How can we feel good about ourselves, if we are not reminded about what they did that was right and what we as a people have done that is right?
The same thing is going on when I watch a rogue Minneapolis police officer murder a man in cold blood. In my view George Floyd was murdered. Every good police officer in America has to be cringing when they see what this cop did. And I believe that the vast majority of police officers in America are good officers but they know how incidents like this make their job so much harder. It damages their reputation even worse than it already is and perpetuates the myth that White police officers are routinely looking for Black people to hunt down and kill. Statistics show that a Black person in America has more to worry about from other Black people than from White police officers, or Whites in general. More Blacks have been killed by Black on Black crime than in all the history of the Ku Klux Klan or other White supremacist groups put together. A Black person has a greater chance of being struck by lightning than being murdered by a White police officer in America. The biggest threat to Black people is fatherless homes. This is also growing threat in White society. These facts do not fit the leftist narrative, however. Never let facts get in the way of a good story. Remember again, never let a crisis go to waste.
As a 21 year military police veteran, and after working ten years as a mall security officer I have met and befriended many civilian police officers. I have met a few police officers that I think are worthless but the vast majority are good, decent, brave and professional people. It angers me how I have seen them disrespected at times. There have been times that I thought they went way too easy on some punk who needed to be acquainted with the floor. Police officers today are much more restrained than ever and go out of their way to avoid escalating a situation. The very communities that would benefit from more aggressive policing are hurt in the long run because of the negative press police officers have been getting over the years. Cities like Baltimore and Chicago for example. The majority of people who live in Black ghettos are good and decent people. They don't deserve to be terrorized by the few thugs that live among them.
Many are calling this killing in Minneapolis a racial hate crime. As far as I know there is no evidence that this cop killed Mr. Floyd because he was Black. I watched two videos and I noticed that two of the officers did not look White to me. They looked like they could be biracial, Hispanic, or Middle Eastern. For those who still think America has systemic racism and it is more racist than it has ever been there is no evidence to back that up. The evidence is to the contrary. I grew up in a society that was guilty of systemic racism and sexism. America is nothing like it was in the 1950's and 60's. Do we still have racism? Absolutely and we always will but they make up a very small group of American's. American's are the most tolerant and open minded people in the world. People are not breaking down the doors of Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Venezuala or Haiti to gain entrance into those countries. People of the world are drawn to America because of our tolerance and our values. Some people from foreign countries, who do not share our values use our freedom to undermine us. The moral of the story is this. Horrible things like the death of Mr. Floyd are going to happen. There are bad people in all walks of life. Do not allow the left and their media to convince you that what happened to Mr. Floyd is the norm.
