THE COMMUNISTS ARE AT IT AGAIN
John Kennedy and his brother Attorney General Robert Kennedy had their hearts in the right place regarding the achievement of civil rights for Black people. They wanted, however; to control the pace of change so as to avoid social upheaval. They were gradualists and this drove civil rights leaders like Martin Luther King to distraction. King and others were for direct action. The Kennedy's and King were frequently butting heads because King was naturally more impatient than they were. In the end events ended up controlling the Kennedy's rather than the Kennedy's controlling events. During the Kennedy's watch they had to deal with such things as the Freedom Rides, the enrollment of the first Black student James Meredith at Ole Miss and the subsequent riots in Oxford Mississippi. Then there was the Albany movement and in May of 1963 the Birmingham Children's March. This is the march in which Birmingham police chief Bull Connor unleashed the fire hoses and the German Shepherds on the children protesters. The N.A.A.C.P. was taking a different approach. They were fighting for the right to vote in the deep South which resulted in intimidation, assaults and murder of those people trying to register people to vote. This would lead to the eventual assassination of Medgar Evers in front of his family. The Kennedy's had a lot on their plate but the Birmingham Children's March, combined with King's arrest and confinement in the Birmingham jail compelled Kennedy to ask for the passage of a Civil Rights Act in May 1963.
In my view Kennedy did not have the political clout and influence necessary to get the bill through congress. It was the impact of his assassination and Lyndon Johnson that made the Civil Rights bill possible. Johnson had the knowledge, clout, and the ruthlessness needed to get it passed, The Communists have always exploited the race issue in America to their advantage. Especially during the Cold War. Kennedy was well aware of this and it was a big reason why he wanted to end the racial problems in America. It was hard to convince the people of the world that were living under Communism, or threatened by it, that our system was a better alternative. That is if we were going treat Black people like 2nd class citizens in our own country. Don't think for a minute that the Communists aren't exploiting racial problems in America today. They are driving a wedge between people because they know what an emotional issue that race still is in America. The only difference is that we are not living in 1963. We still have racism but that is changing with time and it is not systemic contrary to what many say. Alexis de Toqueville said that because of slavery America would always have problems with race. I agree with that but if given the chance, and the race merchants would quit beating us over the head with it, racism might virtually die out in this country. The Communists will not be satisfied until free market capitalism is destroyed. The exploitation of racial problems is a means to an end. If you don't believe me read the mission statement of antifa. Their ultimate goal is the total destruction of America. I believe for the most part this is also the goal of the Democrat party.
