  President Trump has proposed a Golden Dome missile defense system around the North American continent extending as far west as Hawaii, Guam and the Philippines. Canada will also be defended by this system. This is long overdue in my view but Trump is the visionary that can make it happen. It is also part of a hemispheric defense strategy that will place less emphasis on trying to defend global interests and more emphasis on defending the American people and our interests as a nation. As a child of the 1950's and 60's i grew up knowing the real fear of nuclear war. That was the height of the Cold War. We had duck and cover drills in school and watched countless documentaries on the effects of nuclear war.    The writ of habeas corpus is a inalienable right guaranteed to every American. It is a fundamental tool.used to ensure that individuals are not unlawfully detained. It allows individuals to challenge the legality of their detention, demanding that the detaining authority produce the person before a court and justify their continued confinement. The right of habeas corpus can be found in Article 1, Section 9, clause 2 of the Constitution. Since this clause is in Article 1 suspension of this right would take an act of Congress. Habeas corpus can only be suspended for a rebellion or an invasion. The right of habeas corpus, however; has been suspended just twice in American history. Both times it was done by the president and not Congress. It was suspended by Lincoln during the Civil War and Roosevelt in Hawaii after Pearl Harbor. Our elected representatives and presidents have cowered down or apologized for us rather than fighting for us.   It was good to hear that the Communist judge in Wisconsin that tried to obstruct the arrest of a violent illegal alien has been formally indicted by a Federal grand jury. I would also hope that the government will follow through and indict the mayor in New Jersey and several other Democrat congressmen who also interfered with ICE at their detention facility.   I was walking my post in the alert area at Kingsley Field Oregon in early December 1969. The sun had just set and as I turned toward a nearby mountain range silhouetted in the distance I saw a beam of light. At first it looked like a really bright flashlight but then the light suddenly arched upward at an angle. It then morphed into a bluish green laser beam. The point of the beam appeared to split the sky and a cone formed on either side of the laser beam that became a perfect ever expanding triangle of light. The further it traveled the wider the cone of light became. It was as bright as day inside the cone and I was in awe. For a minute I thought this might be the Second Coming of Christ. Off in the distance a C-47 Goonie Bird and an F-106 suddenly appeared on the horizon and the laser beam disappeared as suddenly as it had appeared.  On November 26, 1968 I was on a twenty four hour break after working swing shifts at Kingsley Field Oregon when an announcer broke in on a local radio station with the news that one of our F101 fighters had crashed on takeoff. Debbie and I jumped into our car and drove down to the base and parked on a perimeter road where we could see the smoke rising from the wreckage on the far end of the runway. I took a couple of pictures and left. As the day progressed it became evident that both the pilot and RO had been killed. The fighter was about 75 to 100 feet off the ground when it had a flame out. The plane was nosed up when both men ejected. Their bodies slammed into the runway. Either the men were unaware of the jets angle or they felt that they had no other options. A friend of mine was working day shifts in the nuclear storage area. He told me that he watched the bodies of these men bounce along the runway like basketballs.  My Aunt Goldie became my second mother on the day that my parents died. She was just Didi to everyone who was close to her. Didi had always been a part of my life because she was my mothers youngest sister. She divorced her first husband Lee Roy Anderson in the early 1950's and as long as I could remember had been living with my grandparents. We spent many hours visiting our grandparents at their house on North Fifth Street until they moved in 1955 to Mckennie Avenue in East Nashville. Didi had two boys, my cousins Roy and Alton. She worked for years at Southern Bell telephone company as a telephone operator and later as a clerk on Douglas Avenue and Gallatin Road in East Nashville. Southern Bell eventually became South Central Bell. Mckennie Avenue was where my family was living temporarily when my father shot my mother and killed himself on Wednesday January 16, 1963.   It's A Wonderful Life is one of my favorite movies of all time. During the recent controversy over Trump's tariffs I have thought a lot about a certain scene in this movie. The scene where there is a run on the Bailey Savings and Loan. Panicked credit union members are demanding to withdraw their money out of their accounts. Which would mean the ruin of not only the credit union but the citizens of Bedford Falls in the long run. They would lose any opportunity to own their own homes and would be at the mercy of Old Man Potter. The arch villain or the George Soros of Bedford Falls. Potter owned most of the town but was irritated because he couldn't take ownership of the Savings and Loan. It was the only thing standing between him and total power over the people.
