 To begin with I am a Nashville native and I have always been proud to be from one of the greatest cities in the United States. Unfortunately it is governed by Communists but I am extremely proud of it's police force. As one expert stated their response to the Covenant school shooting was the gold standard. They are working class like me and of common stock. My kind of people. My only complaint is that I don't think all the officers involved are getting the praise they deserve. It is being limited primarily to the two officers that actually killed this piece of filth. They are true heroes but the body cameras revealed the fact that it took teamwork to accomplish the mission and all officers involved exposed themselves equally to danger.  I am also impressed by Covenant's staff and their response to an active shooter.  Democrats are gloating over the likelihood that Donald Trump may be arrested in New York on Tuesday. I am not a lawyer but it seems that his crime was paying hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. Supposedly, his former lawyer Michael Cohen paid her hush money to keep her quiet about an alleged affair. Trump in turn allegedly reimbursed Cohen the money that Cohen paid to Daniels. At issue is whether this was done to silence Daniels in order to avoid embarrassment to Trump and improving his chances of being elected. Or was his motivation to avoid personal embarrassment for his family? It is my understanding that the former reason is illegal but the latter reason is not. First of all Alvin Bragg, the prosecutor in this case, has no basis for prosecuting Trump because if he was paying hush money to influence the election that is a Federal crime and not a state crime. It is my understanding that even the justice department refused to prosecute him on this because

 When I was a student at East Nashville High School classes were dismissed early one day and I was sent, along with the whole student body, to witness a very unusual basketball game in our gymnasium. I can't remember if it was advertised in advance or even what year it happened. It had to be sometime between 1965 when I started my sophomore year and 1968, the year I graduated. I will never forget the basketball game. Our boys varsity basketball team played a women's basketball team sponsored by Nashville Business College. Although I have never been a basketball fan I was familiar with this team. It had a national reputation for being the elite of women's basketball. I only remember two things about that game. Our team won by a slim margin after a hard fought game and I remember the star  player for Nashville Business College. Her name was Nera White and she was phenomenal.  Recently I was talking to a Trump supporter that liked his accomplishments as president but they said that they were tired of all the controversy surrounding him. For that reason they wanted someone different to run in 2024. I have heard this from a number of people and to me this is like blaming a ship for rough seas. Or blaming God for all the pain and suffering in the world. Personally, I hope Desantis runs for president in 2024 but it is not because I am discouraged over the controversy surrounding Trump. I love Trump and will gladly vote for him again if he is nominated. For my part Desantis is younger and I want him to do for America what he has done in Florida. Trump can only legally serve four more years and Desantis can serve eight. I am an American Idol fan and last Sunday I was watching when a young male contestant stated that he was a survivor of a school shooting in Santa Fe Texas. When asked why he was competing he said that it was to honor his fellow students that were killed. Katy Perry fell over on her face crying and when she raised her head she went into a hysterical anti gun rant. The comment that stuck in my mind is when she screamed that "our government has f-ing failed us". I share her frustration about school shootings and the fact that they keep happening. We are miles apart, however; on how to stop these shootings.. Her focus is on removing guns from law abiding citizens. My focus is on giving law abiding citizens with guns a greater opportunity to protect children from these monsters and to eliminate gun free zones.
