IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE A CHRISTIAN AND VOTE DEMOCRAT?

Before I address this question I want the reader to understand that I am in no position to judge anyone. I am a very wicked person saved by grace. If I got what I deserved it would be spiritual death but Jesus died so I wouldn't have to suffer that fate. I do want to challenge the thinking of people who profess Christianity but support a political party that has demonstrated monstrous evil over the nearly 200 years of it's existence. I am in no way advocating that people leave the Democrat party and join the Republican party. Republicans can be as evil as the worst Democrats on occasion. Sometimes I think that they are Democrats masquerading as Republicans. I am an independent who votes Republican simply because they are the lesser of two evils. In my view Donald Trump is an independent at heart but identifies as a Republican as the lesser of two evils like myself. Like Reagan he was a former Democrat who switched to the Republican party. Trump is actually a moderate on many issues such as abortion and homosexuality. He is definitely to the left of me on these issues. Also like Reagan he is transforming the Republican party. The party was never the same after Reagan and Trump has virtually transformed the Republican party into a new party. He has made the Republican party into the party of common sense which makes it more appealing than ever. Common sense is very difficult to defeat. Especially when the Democrat party is now the party of evil and delusion. As doctor Drew said you cannot reason with delusional people. Common sense is the best defense against Communism and the Democrat party is the Communist Party USA. There are many Republicans that I would never vote for. People like Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Susan Collins, Bob Corker, Lamar Alexander and Mitt Romney just to name a few.

There was a time in America that you could  be a Democrat and have a fairly clear conscience. When Kennedy ran for president my mother voted for Kennedy but my dad voted for Nixon. At that time most Democrats were segregationists but there were quite a few Democrats supporting civil rights. Kennedy was one of the latter although he picked a segregationist as his running mate in 1960 in order to unite the party enough that he could win. Although Kennedy was a very flawed man in his personal life he was a patriot and loved his country. Like Trump he was an outsider who was probably killed by the CIA / Mafia. The same people who are gunning for Trump. The Democrat party has a horrible racist history. It was the party of slavery, lynching, the KKK and segregation. They did have some bright spots though. Until the late 1960's and early 1970's they weren't pushing divisive social issues like abortion, homosexuality and radical feminism. They supported strong family values and love of country.

The modern Democrat party is a different animal altogether. The following are the issues that they support. When I say they I am talking about the leadership of the Democrat party and not necessarily the average  Democrat. If average Joe citizen votes for them, however; they must share in their guilt. Ignorance of the issues can only take you so far. Especially those low information voters who are wilfully ignorant, or as Lenin might say the "useful idiots". I know that there are many people who have succumbed to the lefts propaganda and they regurgitate all the Democrat talking points. Leftist mainstream media and social media has radicaIized many Americans. They have done this by consistently referring to Trump as Hitler and Musk and their followers as Nazis. We have also been referred to as the deplorables and garbage. These are the tactics of totalitarian regimes. These people are the delusional people who can't be reasoned with. 

 I was a Democrat until the early 1980's. I could make very sound and educated arguments for why I supported Jimmy Carter and voted for him twice. Today I am ashamed of that period of my life but I would have never changed if I hadn't changed on a spiritual level. As a young Christian I knew very little about the Bible. I was saved at a James Robinson crusade in Colorado Springs at the age of 21 and it was a fundamental change. I was a baby in Christ at that time, however. In the late 1970's I began studying the Bible in depth. I was getting into the meat of the Word and leaving the milk of the Word behind me. The Holy Spirit was giving me spiritual discernment and allowing me to see that the beliefs of the Democrat party ran counter to the Word of God and to my own values. Growth in the Word prepared me for the day that I could divorce myself from them for good. The party that I divorced myself from was not nearly as radical as it is today.

 People have different salvation experiences. As I said I can remember when I was saved but my experience was devoid of emotion. It was purely a rational decision. Many people on the other hand experience great emotion when they are saved. The result, however; is the same. Your life is changed forever. Others will tell you that they cant tell you a specific time or place that they were saved because it just happened gradually over time. The Holy Spirit works in mysterious ways. This was similar to my deliverance from the Democrat party. My conversion to conservatism was gradual and I can't name a specific time or place that I divorced myself from the Democrat party. It just happened. I can tell you for sure that it happened in the early 1980's before Reagan was reelected in 1984. He was the catalyst for my change of perspective. By 1984 I was all in for Reagan's conservatism and I have never looked back. I have to believe that there are good decent law abiding patriotic Christion Democrats who might not know how immoral and unpatriotic that their party is. So the following information is for those people who can still be reasoned with. For the rest of you it will take something traumatic that compels you to look at things differently. I have always heard that a Conservative is just a Democrat who has been mugged.

1. ABORTION :  Do you believe that a Christian should support a party that supports infanticide? The Democrat party proudly and adamantly supports abortion through all 9 months of pregnancy?

 Prior to the Dobb's decision that overturned Roe vs. Wade a woman could get an abortion through all 9 months of pregnancy. She could do this by saying that the birth of her child would be detrimental to her mental health. Although 2nd and 3rd trimester abortions are rarer than 1st trimester abortions they are far too frequent. The Dobb's decision simply left the issue of abortion up to the individual states where it always belonged. It is my understanding that in many of the Democrat controlled states late term abortions are even easier to attain since Dobbs than under Roe vs. Wade. There was a time when many Democrats said that abortion should be rare but legal. Abortion is a sacrament to the Democrat party today and they proudly stand up for abortion through all nine months of pregnancy. In my view that is infanticide. I believe like most scientists that life begins at conception. Other than a biological reason such as a  miscarriage a child will be born as the result of a pregnancy if nothing is done to alter the birth process. There is a soul there. The Bible is clear on this. I believe that I will one day meet the sibling that my mother was carrying when she died and the child that my wife lost in a miscarriage when I get to heaven.

Jeremiah 1-5 says "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." There are many other verses in the Bible that highlight the sanctity of life and of the unborn. When Elizabeth met Mary who was carrying John the Baptist the scriptures say that he leapt in the womb. (Luke 1:41 - And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost. Psalm 139:13-16 Verse 13 - For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 - I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16-Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 

 Exodus 1:15-16 Then the king of Egypt told the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, 16 “When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth, look at the child when you deliver it. If it’s a boy, kill it, but if it’s a girl, let it live.” Satan tried to find Moses and kill him. This is why Pharoah ordered the murder of male children two years old and under. Herod did the same thing in the hopes of killing Jesus. Matthew 2:16-17-18 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. 17 Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled: Satan is going after our unborn today. Who is he seeking to murder?

18 “A voice is heard in Ramah,

weeping and great mourning,

Rachel weeping for her children

and refusing to be comforted,

because they are no more.”

Satan is the father of death. John 10:10 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. Since the Roe Vs. Wade decision nearly sixty-five million children have been slaughtered. This averages out to one million three hundred thousand children murdered each year which makes a woman's womb the most dangerous place. Abortion is the leading cause of death in America. 

2. HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE: When the issue of same sex marriage began making headway it was the Democrat party that was it's main proponent. Many in the conservative movement tried to head off the legalization of homosexual marriage by organizing state referendum's which gave the citizen's of each state the right to vote on the issue. Overwhelmingly same sex marriage was rejected by the electorate. Even crazy California voted against same sex marriage. The Massachusetts supreme court legalized same sex marriage on May 17, 2004 making Massachusetts the first state to legalize same sex marriage. A poll was taken at the time which revealed that even in a state as left wing as Massachusetts 66% of the people were against same sex marriage. In a state like Massachusetts there had to be Democrats that were against it in that poll which means they had moral values. In spite of overwhelming opposition in June 2015 the United States Supreme Court illegally ruled same sex marriage legal in Obergefell vs. Hodges. I say illegally because marriage is a state issue and should be left to the states just like the abortion issue. 

  For the most part the people in the states had made their voices heard. Also the court has made behavior a fundamental right. What I mean by this is that I had no choice in the fact that I was born white or that I was born male. Being homosexual is a choice and the Bible says that homosexuality is a sin. Until scientists can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that homosexuality is not behavior I will accept the courts ruling but in my view it is behavior and to me behavior is not protected as a fundamental right. I know homosexuals Christians who have renounced that lifestyle and are now living their lives as straight males involved in traditional marriages. Jesus makes all things possible. The Lord fashioned one of Adam’s ribs into Eve and Adam said “this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken out of man” The Bible states that Adam and Eve were married in the garden of Eden. There is no reference, however; to the wedding ceremony. The book of Genesis refers to Eve as Adam's wife: “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed” Genesis 2:25. I do not expect that same sex marriage will ever be overturned now. Because something is legal doesn't make it right, however. I would remind people that slavery and segregation were legal at one time. As humans we change but God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. His law never changes. Homosexuality, like fornication, stealing, murder, lying, coveting, idol worship, and all other forms of sin separate us from God. Luke 24:47: “There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.”

3. THERE ARE ONLY TWO GENDERS: Genesis 1:27 It is written, "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. On issues like this I think it is sad that anyone has to spend any time at all trying to convince people of something that has been obvious to everyone since the beginning of time and is backed up not only by God's Word but biological science. The political left destroys everything it touches. It is common sense that there are only two genders but as I have already stated common sense is a bulwark against Communism. For Communism to thrive common sense must be destroyed. This is why common sense is under attack. The Democrat party is all in on the issue of gender confusion. 

4. THE SEXUAL GROOMING OF CHILDREN: The Democrats have been pushing the sexual grooming of young children for a long time now. Pushing transgender ideology, drag shows, and graphic sex education in schools. Democrats have supported open borders which has enabled the cartels to sex traffic children for years. They have fought for years to keep Bible reading and prayer out of public schools contrary to the 1st Amendment. The Democrats are on very dangerous ground here. The Bible says It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble. Luke 17:2. The children are always targeted by totalitarian regimes. This is one of the best ways to undermine the family.

5. THE SEXUAL MUTILATION OF CHILDREN: Under the leftist guise of :"Gender Affirming Care" children are being chemically castrated, and girls are having their breasts removed. Boys and girls are losing their ability to have children. Supposedly they are doing this to avoid childhood suicide for those with gender dysphoria that has been promoted by brainwashing but the real threat of suicide comes when these children are old enough to regret their decision. In some Communist states like California and Minnesota parental rights are being taken away or diminished. Parents can be arrested or have their children taken away from them if they oppose the sexual mutilation of their children. No child, with or without parental permission should be allowed to be sexually butchered until at least the age of 18. Luke 17:2 can also be applied to the people who advocate for this. 

There are so many Democrat policies that could be argued from a Biblical perspective. Open borders, Democrat leniency toward criminal activity, welfare policies that weaken the family and deter fathers from being in the home. Race baiting that promotes racial division in America. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policies that promote racism and sexism. Instead of being aimed at blacks and minorities straight white people are now being discriminated against. The promotion of class warfare. The creation of national debt that threatens to destroy our country and massive waste, fraud and abuse that is being uncovered by DOGE or Elon Musk's team. A foreign policy that diminishes America's power in the world and the push toward globalism. The weakening of our military by promoting DEI and woke policies. I could go on and on. Recently a poll was conducted that revealed that 55% of leftists would not have a problem with President Trump being assassinated and 48% of leftists would not have a problem with Elon Musk being assassinated. This blows my mind. 

 Contrary to popular opinion John Kennedy was not that well liked by the American people prior to being assassinated in 1963. He had plenty of opposition from both the Republican and Democrat party. The country was shocked to it's core by his death, however. The whole country was united in grief. Kennedy was elevated to martyr status. Although I wasn't a Christian until the age of 21 my mother was a Christian and she taught me not to hate people and never wish harm to come to anyone no matter how much I differed with them. We were to love our enemies. Many of us have lost the ability to disagree agreeably. In my view having a civil debate is a bridge to intellectual growth. We can never grow unless our beliefs are challenged. It saddens me that I personally know people who are good, patriotic Americans and if they allowed themselves to look at the issues objectively I know that they couldn't in  good conscience support the Democrat platform. Many have allowed themselves to be brainwashed and they haven't come to grips with the fact that their party is no longer the party of their parents and grandparents. It is atheistic, immoral and anti-American. It is in fact the Communist Party USA. 

 

In conclusion I will let God be the ultimate judge of a persons salvation. Like I said at the beginning of this my sins are enormous and I have no right to judge. On the other hand I think Christians should have the self awareness that sin cannot be rationalized away. For example you could be a Christian and have a personal struggle with sobriety if you were a recovering alcoholic and Christ is doing a work in you you would never say that it is okay to drink to excess and to be drunk as often as you feel like it. You would acknowledge your sin but also realize that you might slip up from time to time but the fight is lifelong. I am reading a book about Frederick Douglas who escaped from slavery as a young man. He wrote in his autobiography that his master was very pious. Yet his master could whip Douglass to a pulp and then without batting an eye could lead a prayer service. I have read about Nazi SS members who practiced Christianity and observed Christian holidays like Christmas and Easter. They worshipped a loving God while committing some of the most heinous acts known to man. As a Christian I can't relate to behavior like that. In my view these people are monsters. 

I also view Democrat leaders today as monsters who cannot stand and applaud for a 13 year old boy dying of cancer who was made an honorary Secret Service agent. Or those Democrats who refuse to applaud for or acknowledge the parents of children murdered by illegal aliens. Or refuse to acknowledge the widow of a slain police officer. Or refuse to acknowledge the son of a slain police officer who was accepted into West Point. The Democrat Senator Van Hollen from Maryland who voted against the Laiken Riley Bill, and who has refused to acknowledge the American parents of children slain by illegal aliens in his own state but is at this moment fighting to have an MS-13 El Salvadorian citizen released from prison is a monster to me. The Democrats are for open borders, drug trafficking, sex trafficking, slave labor, waste fraud and abuse, high taxes, election fraud and their hatred of Donald Trump is so great that they would gladly do any evil act to defeat him. That makes them evil monsters in my opinion. Is it possible to be a Christian and vote Democrat? That question is not for me to decide. It is for the Christian who who continues to vote Democrat in spite of the facts available to  them and before their very eyes.
