THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS

 The resignation of General Mattis as Secretary of Defense took me by surprise as it did most Americans. I love General Mattis and he is a great American patriot. As of the moment I am undecided as to whether I approve of Trump's change in strategy regarding Syria. I am sure of a few things, however. Trump, under Mattis's leadership has nearly destroyed ISIS. Let me make one thing clear, however; as long as the cancer of Islam, and groups like ISIS exists, we can never totally eradicate them. Islam is like a cancerous tumor. With the proper medical treatment we can shrink the tumor until it is nearly gone. Unless we continue treating it the tumor can it will grow again and even metastasize. Another thing that I am sure of is that Obama had no desire to defeat ISIS. He could have had the same success as Trump if he had wanted to. He did not want to.

 Finally the whole reason that ISIS became a problem was that after American forces gained the upper hand in Iraq Obama pulled our forces out. This created a vacuum that was filled by ISIS. Obama's decision nullified the sacrifice of over 4,000 brave American's overnight. Why did the press ignore Obama's decision to pull out of Iraq in 2011? They of course are vilifying Trump today over pulling out of Syria? Obama's irresponsible decision was okay then because he was the mighty Democrat Obama. A decision that had much greater consequences than Trump's decision to pull out of Syria. Today, thanks to Trump and Mattis, we have returned to Iraq unlike in 2011. I do not believe that Trump will allow ISIS to make a comeback of any significance. No, I don't like how Trump went about pulling the troops out of Syria but I hate the hypocrisy of the left wing media even more.

The James brothers with their mother Zerelda James   Most everyone has heard of the notorious outlaws Jesse and Frank James, however; did you know that they lived in Nashville from 1875 until March 1881? Jesse's oldest son Jesse James Jr. was born in Nashville along with his sister Mary. Jesse Jr. was born at 606 Boscobel Street on August 31, 1875. Mary was born on West Hamilton Road in Bordeaux on July 17, 1879. Jesse Jr. went by the name Tim and as far as he knew his last name was Howard. He and his sister would not know their real last names until after Jesse was killed in 1882. Jesse and his wife Zerelda would also lose two male twins in infancy.  Jesse's brother Frank lived on Clarksville Pike. While living there he and his wife Annie Ralston James gave birth to a son named Robert Franklin on February 6, 1877. For a time he would be dressed as a girl and go by the name of Mary.   Charlie Parkhurst aka One-eyed Charlie, Cockeyed Charlie, or Six Horse Charlie was born in 1812 in Vermont. Eventually he made his way out west to California where he became a teamster and one of the most skilled stagecoach drivers in history. He was small in stature but tough. Shortly after becoming a stagecoach driver for the California Stage Company he was kicked in the face by a horse and blinded in one eye. Charlie began his reputation as a tough driver when a robber named "Sugarfoot" held up his stage one day. Taken by surprise his only option was to give up his strong box. Six months later the Sugarfoot hit him again but Charlie was prepared this time. He blew him away with a shotgun at point blank range.
