KEEPING THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE

The very public political break-up between President Trump and Elon Musk is sad and painful to see. It wouldn't be the first time that two great men in history formed a friendship during a pivotal moment in history only to become bitter political rivals later on. The relationship between Thomas Jefferson and John Adams comes to mind. Both men were signers of the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson wrote the Declaration after Adams recommendation During the American Revolution they were great friends but in later years they became bitter enemies. So much so that when Jefferson succeeded Adams as president he left Washington refusing to attend the swearing in ceremony of Jefferson. In the years before their death on the same day, July 4th 1826, they reconciled as friends. Ironically July 4. 1826 was the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

I don't know yet what really happened to cause this rift. It will eventually all come out in the wash I think. This has the potential to be very damaging to the Trump administration but my money is still on Trump. I just hope MAGA supporters will just keep things in perspective. Regardless of who is to blame we must never forget the invaluable support of Elon Musk to the reelection of President Trump in 2024. It can be argued that Trump might not have won without it. Musk's acquisition of Twitter was monumental in bringing back free speech along with getting the MAGA message out to the general public. The money he donated to the campaign along with getting the vote out in the swing states, especially Pennsylvania. Even if you hate Musk for what he has done you should be realistic enough to recognize the obvious. A good example in American history would be Benedict Arnold. His name is synonymous with treason but the reality is, besides Nathaniel Greene, he was probably our best field general in the American Revolution. If not for him we would not have won the battle of Saratoga which is considered the turning point of the American Revolution. Our victory there secured a treaty of alliance with France. Arnold had very real grievances with the American Army and the Continental Congress. He was treated very poorly and was not given credit for the victory at Saratoga but regardless this did not justify  treason against the American cause. Many people may look at Musk right now as a traitor or a Benedict Arnold.

Predictably the Communist Democrats are loving the Musk-Trump feud. Overnight they will probably transform him from a horrible Nazi villain into a heroic figure. In the end I think that this will hurt the Democrats. The American people are not dumb and they will recognize the hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is one of the main reasons that the Democrat party is so unpopular right now. Trump supporters must avoid the same hypocrisy. A few days ago Musk was a hero to the MAGA movement. If we start villainizing Musk over this we risk becoming what we despise in the Communist Democrats. In my view Musk is the modern Benjamin Franklin. Franklin was a very flawed worldly man but he courageously provided invaluable service to the American cause. During the signing of the Declaration of Independence one of the delegates was overhead saying that they would all hang if they didn't hang together. Franklin said that if they didn't hang together they would all hang separately.

In my eyes Musk is a hero. At least until this point. It remains to be seen just how ugly this fight will get. Musk just might just be in a bad mood because Tesla shares have dropped dramatically over the last couple of days. Or he might be having an emotional breakdown because he sided with Trump. I understand that Musk does drugs. That could be a factor.  Overseeing DOGE his life and the lives of his family have been threatened. The Dems are talking about putting him in prison if they ever get back into power. His cars have been vandalized and he has lost millions. Trump has proven that he can take this kind of abuse but Trump is unique. I would venture to say that most people are not built for it. If I had to endure even a quarter of what Musk and Trump have endured I would probably be balled up in a fetal position over in a corner sucking my thumb. Musk, however; risked his fortune and his freedom siding with Trump. I am convinced that he would have gone to prison if the Communists had won the presidency in 2024. In conclusion let's try not to jump to conclusions and to keep everything in perspective.
