LAW AND ORDER IS ALWAYS A WINNING STRATEGY

On the late afternoon of April 4, 1968 I was working the 2nd shift at Baird-Ward printing company in Nashville when I heard the news about the assassination of Martin Luther King. All hell broke loose in Nashville and Memphis that night. Cities all over the country were burning and looters were running rampant. A state of emergency was declared and by the next day National Guard tanks and armored vehicles were deployed throughout Nashville. Our plant was right across the street from the Tennessee National Guard headquarters. On my breaks I watched as the troops were being mobilized. By the next day a six PM curfew was declared by then Democrat governor Buford Ellington. The Mayor of Nashville was Democrat Beverly Briley. Both handled the situation masterfully. After six o'clock the only people allowed on the street were people like myself who were going to work or were enroute to a hospital for emergency care. Everybody else would be arrested. I was a senior in high school at the time.

On the second night I got off at eleven o'clock and was driving down 8th Avenue toward my home in East Nashville. The interstates were not complete at that time so I had to drive through town. Suddenly I saw what appeared to be a large mob standing in the road off in the distance. This was a predominantly black area of town and I thought that this white boy might be in trouble. I stomped on the accelerator with the intention of running through the mob if I had to when it suddenly dawned on me that this wasn't a mob. It was a police roadblock consisting of Metro police, THP and Guardsman. I slammed on my brakes and an older policeman walked up to my window asking "where's the fire boy". With my voice trembling I told him that I was going home from work and I was speeding because didn't know who they were. He told me to keep going and not to stop until I got home. Just then a car carrying two black men pulled up behind me. At first they stopped but all of a sudden their car lurched forward. A motorcycle officer slammed the butt of his shotgun down on the trunk of their car. As I was driving away I saw the police jerk them out of their car in my rearview mirror. With such strong leadership by the governor and mayor and with the help of the National Guard and law enforcement the curfew was lifted after only a few days. This was a good example of handling civil unrest.

The 1960's were a crazy period. There had been the Nashville sit-ins, the Freedom Rides, The Children's march in Birmingham, the march on Selma, the LA Watts riot in 1965, the Detroit riot in 1967 and then the death of MLK. Blacks had a valid grievance against the Democrat party in those days. I can understand the anger that they were feeling but when MLK was killed by the Democrats they killed the primary leader who had been trying to contain black anger in America. He was a true believer in non violence. Blacks became more militant after his death. Regardless how valid the cause is it does not justify mob violence. There are inner city areas that are still economically depressed and ravaged as a result of the 1960's riots. Minority neighborhoods usually suffer the most from mob violence such as in LA today. In the late 1960's there was also violence and unrest caused by the unpopularity of the Vietnam war. By the end of the 1960's most Americans were tired of Democrat lawlessness. They wanted law and order. This is why President Nixon, a Republican won in 1968 on a law and order platform and he won by a huge landslide in 1972. Reagan partly won two terms in the 1980's on a law and order platform.

Until President Trump most riots and civil disturbance has been organic. Even the 1992 LA riot was spurred by the mistreatment of Rodney King by the LAPD. It covered a much larger area of LA and was spontaneous. The present trouble in LA including the George Floyd riots in 2020 were and are top down staged events. People are being organized and paid to protest and riot by Communists, Communist groups and Communist oligarchs like George Soros. The LA riot covers a smaller area and less people are involved. Unlike the riots of the 1960's where blacks had legitimate grievances these modern day riots are not based on legitimate grievances. They are designed to ultimately toppel the United and capitalism. The Communists don't give a rip about illegal aliens, black people, women, homosexuals, or transsexuals. They want power for powers sake. California has five congressional seats that they wouldn't have if illegals were not counted in their Federal census. This is why Democrats wanted to spread slavery into the territories before the Civil War. Slaves were counted as three fifths of a person. They could maintain a balance of power in Congress. This is why the Democrats started the Civil War against the Republican party. The Republicans wanted to stop the spread of slavery.

They have successfully divided the country again. They want another civil war. Newsome and other Communists are accusing Trump of wanting a civil war but this is projection. They want a civil war and they are looking for a martyr or martyrs to start one. Trump just wants what most Americans want. The rule of law and not mob rule. This is the difference between a republican representative democracy and the democracy that the Communists want. Democracy is mob rule. Because the patriotic Americans are on Trump's side we will support the just use of overwhelming force every time.

The Democrats havent changed that much since the 1960's. During the Sit In's, the Freedom rides, the Birmingham Children's March, and the March on Selma, Democrat mayors and governors protected the law breakers who were the Klan and white thugs. The police departments were told to stand down while the thugs had their way with the blacks. In Nashville during the sit-ins blacks were arrested after being beat up by white thugs and the thugs were let go. A black person could not expect to get a fair trial in Democrat managed cities or states if they were charged with a crime. We have seen that Conservatives cannot expect justice in Democrat blue cities such as Washington D.C. and any blue city. Troops were sent by Eisenhower and Kennedy into Democrat run states in the South during the 1950's and 60's to uphold Federal law because local mayors and governors were refusing to enforce the law much like Democrat laders are doing today. Like their Southern brothers they allow their modern day Klan- like terror groups such as Antifa and BLM to have their way with law abiding citizens. Police are ordered to stand down. Like the Klan, Antifa, and BLM thugs are not arrested or they get a slap on the hand. So when you hear Democrats say that Trump's sending in troops is unprecedented it is of course a lie. I have never known any president having to send in troops because a Republican political leader was refusing to uphold the law. Trump can only defeat these Communist bullies by being tough. Americans love a badass. It is time for Trump to be the baddest of them all.
