THE TROSTLE FARM
The Abraham Trostle farm then and now. Catherine Trostle filed a damage claim with the United States government. She claimed that there were 16 dead horses near the house and 100 on the farm. She also claimed that their hay, oats, wheat, garden vegetables, quilts, carpet, bridles, posts, and timber were destroyed. The U.S. Government never payed this claim. In 1899 the U.S. Government bought the farm for 4,500 dollars.
The Trostle Barn then and now. There is still a hole in the barn where a Confederate shell passed through the barn.
