THE ILLUSTRIOUS POTENTATE OF DISRESPECT

OUR ILLUSTRIOUS POTENTATE

A writer by the name of Sara Paretsky has made the charge that John Boehner and Mitch McConnell disrespected Obama twice in one week by inviting Netanyahu to speak without State Department approval and not attending the observance of the 50th anniversary of the March on Selma. Technically it was a violation of protocol for Congress to bypass the State Department. In my opinion it was the right call because the stakes are too high on this one. The treaty that Obama is negotiating with Iran has the potential of leading to World War III and no one is more qualified to sound the alarm than Netanyahu. It was a violation of protocol but no law was violated that I am aware of. Secondly, in my opinion it was a public relations mistake for the Republicans to ignore the ceremony in Selma. However we must never forget that the 1965 Voting Rights Act, which resulted from what had occurred in Selma could not have been possible without the support of the Republican Party led by Everett Dirksen. First of all my hatred of Boehner and McConnell is only exceeded by my hatred of Obama. In my mind Boehner and McConnell are the ultimate sellouts. They are Benedict Arnold's and the Republican Party would be better off without them.

For this woman to make the charge that the Congress has disrespected Obama is preposterous in light of the disrespect that Obama shows Congress, the Constitution and the American people on almost a daily basis. Allow me to remind the reader of these incidents of disrespect. In 2012 he bypassed Congress in signing executive orders that allowed 1.7 million illegal aliens who arrived in the United States before their 16th birthday and had not reached the age of 31 to not be deported. He set conditions that were drawn from thin air for them to be qualified for legal status. In 2014 he essentially gave the same rights to five million illegals, this time without age limits Obama acknowledged at least 22 times that he did not have the legal authority to do this without first going through Congress. A Federal judge has issued an order putting a halt to this. Evidence has shown that he is continuing with the process in defiance of the court order. In 2011 Obama decided not to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act. A law that was duly passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bill Clinton. Last week the FCC took over regulation of the internet. Federal courts have twice ruled that Obama does not have that authority. Time after time he has violated the so-called Affordable Care Act by illegally delaying certain aspects of the law for political reasons.

Now he is seriously considering signing orders that will raise taxes on corporations by redefining tax terminology. This will drastically effect shareholders and 401K's. Article I, section 1 of the Constitution begins, “All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States.” Congress is a legitimate check on power. This was the intention of the framers. What Obama is doing now is exactly what the framers feared the most. My biggest beef is with the Republican Congress. They have a Constitutional duty to stop Obama but they are not doing it. Just because the Republicans for example want amnesty for illegals they should at least care enough about the Constitution and have the courage to accomplish their goal by the legislative process. Instead these worthless little cowards are allowing Obama to do their dirty work for them in granting amnesty by fiat. Something they want as badly as Obama and the Democrats. They put on a show for their constituents who voted for them. The voters put the Republicans in power to put a stop to amnesty. They think we are stupid and don't know what is really going on.The Democrats need to realize that Obama is setting a dangerous precedent. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. If by some miracle a Republican is ever elected president in the future how would they feel if that president decided not to enforce Roe vs. Wade, labor laws, or chose to ignore laws important to liberals by issuing executive memos and actions that nullified those laws. This issue is not about left and right. It is about right and wrong.
